Yeah, no thanks, especially if you over paid on the lens as it was, just rubs me the wrong way. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...

It's strange how much a hood can be worth. I bought a Topcon 35/2.8 lens one time, it arrived with the hood for the 20mm F4, which turns out to be worth only slightly less than the 20mm lens itself. If I hold on to it for a bit maybe I can swap a hood for a lens... |

I believe at this level it's a collector thing. I have hoods for all my lenses and 4 out of 5 are generic. I choose them as long as possible and stop where the vignetting starts. Works for me. Very wide angles may need a step-up ring. No big deal. _________________ 🙋 My wishlist: Titan or Idaho 135/1,8 Nikon Df Nikkor 105/1,8 35/1,4 85/1,4

Interesting information - I didn't know that . I got mine - Topcor RE 4/20mm with hood - together with the Topcon RE Super, the RE 1.4/58mm, and the RE 2.8/10cm for about CHF / USD 250.--. Nice set, later on completed with a Topcon Super D plus motor drive, this time with the RE lenses 2.8/28mm, 1.8/58mm, 2.8/100mm and 3.5/135mm. And the 3.5/30mm macro lens ... . The second set, too, was in the range of CHF 250.--. _________________ www.artaphot.ch |

I know, it's such a shame there is not a charity out there that would source rare photography gear and sell it at cost. |

Here's an auction that just ended. For a brief time Nikon put the 3.5cm f2.5 lens in the same housing as the 3.5cm f1.8 lens. The hood that came with it is the same as the 3.5cm f1.8 hood, except for different markings.
I was actually bidding on it but it went too high for my taste.

Not just that. You may want to create an outrageous listing to drive viral traffic, to use it as placeholder and then edit to something else but keep high views and number of watchers, you can hope for an idiot with more money than sense, as in here for example, and sometimes there are tax reasons. |
