I don't think it's IR pass coated, they are usually quite dark.

Its not under warm ledlight ( the other pictures were )
But this is how it looks unmounted.
Edit: It's about a 220-240MM F 5.6

He posed a shot in the first post just above the cat, it definitely has an amber tint.
Thanks for posting the pic with it unmounted,the coating does resemble the filters used to block IR for cameras that have no IR blocking filter. Like the Leica M8.

If the uneven yellowing is being created by Thorium containing element(s), it can be removed by sunlight, or for speed, L.E.D's. |
