You posted it fine, there's a anti spam measure that prevents links and pics in the users first post, after your 2nd post everything will work as it should. Welcome to the forum.

No. resolution is not too high, 1080 wide is fine to embed as most users should have a 1920x1080 monitor by now, use a link if it's full size, and there's a large image gallery here http://forum.mflenses.com/oversized-gallery-f21.html if you want to post larger pics.
