Hi all, I've just ordered a Fuji EBC 28mm f/1.9 from a camera shop in the Netherlands which was on sale for nearly a year and I jumped at the opportunity. It's arriving next week along with a seperate Fuji AX - NEX adapter from France. Anyway, I've read as much threads as I could and I assume that there is quite a few people here who now own the Fuji EBC 28mm f/1.9. It's nearly 2020 so can anyone please help and care to share their up to date examples or thoughts on this lens? Laugh 1 I will be pairing it up with my Minolta 24mm F/2.8 (III) and Carl Zeiss Ultron 50mm f/1.8.

Many thanks!

Welcome! I'm not sure there are that many active members here that has it. So the task to show pictures might fall on you! But I look forward to see some pictures either way.
The Minolta and Zeiss are top tier choices too, it will be a great kit.
I don't have the 28mm f/1.9, but I have taken a few photos with the 28mm 3.5 Very Happy

You are probably right, thanks, I owned many from Konica, Minolta and more, but I've shortened my lens kit down to these two, can't go wrong with any of these two if you come across it, the Ultron is an expensive gem.

How did you find your 28mm 3.5?

Thank you Raxar and nzayirodric.
The camera was a Fujifilm X-E1 and is shown a little further down in the link that I provided.
A very good performer indeed
Tom

I'm always on the lookout hehe. Found it on tradera, online auction site. Here is a shot showing off the bokeh:

It's good lens, I quite like it, my only complaints is the focus throw is quite short, a 1/4 turn, and that it focuses backwards like Nikon and Pantax.
Color is nice, it's sharp, and has a nice transition from the focus plane to out of focus, bokeh is

Nice shot! Like 1 small Considering the aperture, I still do like the bokeh. It's got me excited to receive the lens!

Hi Lightshow, I'm liking everything I see from these shots of the lens, it reminds me of my Konica UC Hexanon which I sold a year ago. Do you own any other 28's? how does this lens stack up against others? and secondly, how does it perform on your camera if you use a full frame camera? from the centre to the corners.

The Fujinon and my Rokkor are both awesome, sharp wide open and have a nice transition into OOF, and nice bokeh, I'm more into rendering and character than ultimate corner performance.
The Fijinon again shot on my A7r wide open. (focus is on the rear tail light)

Again, wide open, it's plenty sharp.

I have a few, it's one of my favorite focal lengths.
I really like this lens, no, I love this lens. Rokkor 28/2.5 https://www.flickr.com/photos/lightshow-photography/tags/rokkormc2825/
NEX-7 wide open, I really love this lenses rendering.

Hot on it's heals, Topcor RE 28/2.8 https://www.flickr.com/photos/lightshow-photography/tags/topcorre2828/
Razor sharp SMC K Pentax 28/2(clone of Zeiss 28/2 "Hollywood") https://www.flickr.com/photos/lightshow-photography/tags/pentaxsmck282/
Super Takumar 28/3.5(early) https://www.flickr.com/photos/lightshow-photography/tags/pentaxsupertak2835early/
Somewhat less fun to use, Leica R 28/2.8 v1 https://www.flickr.com/photos/lightshow-photography/tags/leicar2828elmarit/
I really want the SMC K 28/3.5, it's been on my to get list for years, I'd love to get the Leica R v2 but it's to much $$$.

My 2 most favorite lenses on my NEX-7 are my Canon FD SSC 24/2.8 and Leica M 28/2.8 v2, followed closely by my OM 21/3.5.

Lovely rendering of the Fuji lens, these are great examples and on full frame it looks like a great performer which is sort of rare for a fast lens and it's limitations back then. The Rokkor's rendering is superb. I love Minolta lenses. The rest of the lenses have unique characters of their own. I see the SMC K 28/3.5 on sale from time to time, I've seen great examples of it. One lens I would love to own is the Pentax 31/1.8 but again it's a lot of £££ I'll see how I feel when the Fuji arrives.

I haven't shot the Fujinon as much as I have shot the Rokkor, but it does seem very similar WO in that they are sharp within the plane of focus and a nice transition into decent bokeh, I tend to prefer the Rokkor because it's focus turns the correct way and has a metal focus ring.

Lightshow, very convincing illustrations of the lens' sharpness and colour rendition!

Thanks.
I did make an error, this isn't wide open, though I did shoot some WO shots at the time.
