Hi All,
I am looking at a A. Schacht Tele-Travelon 200mm/4.0. Other than the basic data (blades, aperture, filter size, weight etc.) I can't really find much about it in terms of image quality and ergonomics. Can anyone offer any insight?
Regards, C.

I watch all schacht offerings on ebay these very rarely show up. In my experience the "-on" suffix designated lenses are a cut above their "-ar" suffix versions. Maybe someone on here knows if those endings are based on lens plans. Tessar vs planar or something, I don't know. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

Well, I did pick up the Tele-Travelon. Initial impressions are very good, although a thorough test will have to wait for the weather to improve a bit. It has been very typical of this time of year where I live: somber and gray.
Unfortunately on mine the focusing ring is very stiff, a detail not mentioned in the eBay auction. If/when I find someone in my area who can safely "operate" on these lenses this one is going on the list for that person to look at (my CZJ 135mm 4.0 Sonnar is on the same list).
At about 520 grams it is a bit heavier than some 200mm lenses I own, but those have more plastic. I am looking forward to my next Schacht lens
