well, just for the fun...

on ussrphoto was posted the link to an Ebay "Helios-42" M39 (!). It's just a zebra Helios-44 m39, but then factory error or seller scam? :

That's an old thing with some former-USSR sellers, as old as fake Helios 44m-7, aka rebadged older Helios. On the other hand, I wonder about how people get excited over Mir 2 for example, where did they read good reviews... That's what some get for going for "rare" lenses I suppose, a most common lens in the world with a fake nameplate. I suppose these are truly rare though, or I hope so. Smile

The 2 of the 42 doesn't look the same as the 2 in 2/58.

I'd say fake.
