I know this is for manual lenses but I did shift the MF button on the lens an manual focus. Just an extraordinary visual phenomenon. I thought I would share .

Yes I had to look it up. Apparently occurring more frequently in recent years. Previous observations had all been in polar regions until quite recently. This shot is resized only and Zeiss colors were quite true to my visual take.

Nicely caught Like 1 . Did you just happen upon it, or did you have a hint it was coming?

Fascinating. I've seen purple clouds post-sunset, but never these. I live at latitude 29.76 degrees North, so I'm way too far south to see them anyway.

The day before we had had some much lighter versions. My wife looked out the picture window and commented "we have those blue clouds again". I saw they were more obvious so I grabbed the camera and tripod and headed outside. At first they were just barely evident against the blue sky but became more and more prominent. Just amazing.

They've been appearing for several years here. I live about 380 miles south of Jamaeolus, 40° N latitude. Also Mammatus
