There are people that come and go and some that stay a long time. Big Dawg was a long-term participant here until some point in 2017. When someone stops posting, we generally don't notice or just think he has moved on. I had exchanged a couple of messages with BD back in the spring of 2017. At that time, BD told me he had been having treatments for lung cancer but they had also recently found brain tumors. I tried following up with him but received no response. I didn't know BD's real name but did remember that he enjoyed motorcycling in addition to photography and he also participated in a martial art. That information, coupled with his home state of Alabama led to his obituary in the summer of 2017. Please join me in remembering Big Dawg, his contributions, participation, and always friendly nature.

Oh, how sad is this. He was a very liked and knowlegable photographer, always contributed to the manual focusing community and had some quite impressive collections, namely is "chrome nose" ones.
