I only discovered the joy of using manual lenses on modern cameras last summer.

I've become a bit addicted.

I read this form and google many of the lenses quoted.

One lens that caught my eye was the Industar И-61.

I bought one over the Easter vacation (it was attached to a Fed 4), so here are my first few online posts with the impressive little powerhouse

Pin sharp, clear results

Apart from the wall pic, these images were post processed as Raw files in Rawtherapee and GIMP

The wall pic was edited as a jpeg , in GIMP

I hope you like them too

I've yet to find a "bad" Russian lens that wasn't actually mechanically faulty.

I first met an Industar in 1969 on my first SLR, a Zenit 3m, and have kept one to hand ever since. I now have a small selection of serviceable Industars and Jupiters, almost all bought before the advent of mirrorless cameras, when the prices started to rise, and they continue to satisfy ... just need to use them more! Summer's coming Smile

I have 3 Helios 58mm lenses and all 3 produce excellent results. I am really pleased with them.

The Industar really surprises me with how good it is.
