An overlooked lens because of its "odd" focal range.
Very well made and with very good performance.
Here is the lens:

And here are some results from it:

Do you see the three dragonflies on the rocks?

I see them!

I had this lens in M42. On crop sensor same field of view as a 70-200mm lens on FF, a very useful range imho!

Good results on FF too!

Sharp from wide open.

Here is a shot in colour.
A good lens all round

Excellent exposure!

I see eucalyptus have shed some bark indicating summertime. Here is pouring rain, today already a few inches...

Thank you blotafton and visualopsins.
Yes this is the time of year when some of the eucalypts show off their new bark colours by shedding the old.
Late January is the best time for it usually, and I have my eye on a copse of trees that are starting to show promise.

That's a very respectable zoom lens, and lovely pictures as ever Tom. Like 1 small

Thank you David.
These lenses are often found cheaply - I guess because of their non-standard focal range.
The constant maximum aperture is a nice touch and mfd is a respectable 1.5m, which is pretty good for 125mm but quite distant at 45mm.
There is no close-up function without tubes.
Perhaps it is the conservative specs that allow such good performance optically

Just testing it out, but already surprisingly sharp and good bokeh for a zoom

if the lens was f/2.8 or f/2 it would be much more popular Wink

And I wouldn't have been able to buy it for €20 and it would be a lot heavier and near impossible to operate Wink.

I had not heard of this lens earlier even though I had contributed to Bojar Dimitrov's K-mount lens site. It is an exceptional lens; more so in the hands of a seasoned photographer.
