So took a selection of socialist glass out into the countryside to test it out. Unfortunately the weather was a bit dull so there's a bit of PP to say the least to get the most out of the lack of contrast..

Pentacon 135mm f/2.8 (early 15-blade/Orestor version)






Carl Zeiss Jena 20mm f/4 Flektogon













Cut short a bit by conditions and driver boredom, but plenty more to try next time...

Noooo... hundreds of miles north... Southern Uplands as such - I did have a few other lenses with me but didn't get a chance to try them for this kind of thing... However, the Flektogon 20 on a full frame at 1x1 is looking like a winner so far...

I did get the Steinheil 35mm f/4.5 Culmigon on the camera but didn't get much of a chance to shoot with it..

It does appear to be quite something up close though..

Jeez! My stamping ground, more or less, growing up. That's embarrasing that I didn't recognise it Smile. Good to read you're enjoying the lenses.

lol.. I did try to explain to the driver I was looking to make it look unrecognisable as such... Very Happy

And definitely, I am constantly surprised by many of them; using the Steinheil Culmigon up close in natural light was revelatory. It's probably as close to a medium format feel on full frame DSLR to date.

I did also take a Flektogon 50mm f/4 (Pentacon Six lens) but didn't get much use of it - forgot how angry insects are in the countryside..
