Hi Guys,
I have found a nice AUTO MIRANDA MACRON 1:3.5 f=55mm which I can get for a reasonable price, but couldn't find much info abut it.
It looks similar to Mamiya 2.8/60 to me which was an excellent lens.
Any experience with it?
What is the resale value if i decide not to keep it?

Thanks

Never seen nor heard of it. Miranda are more common in the US than EU.

It's not that common here either, the Canon FD 50/3.5 and Nikkor 55/2.8 are far more common.

Thanks guys,
seems like a very capable macro lens from what I've seen on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/49576306@N08/sets/72157629860415711

Don't know if i will get it as I'm out of free money for this month already Very Happy

Miranda Macron are quite collectible.
Not common, though they had a bit of a cult following from early on.
Miranda did a great deal to appeal to the scientific macro market. It wanted to take this over from Exakta. This one should be 1:1 as it has a double helical.
US ebay should get you $100 at least.
If you want an affordable macro like this I suggest Nikkor, but that's a single helical and only goes to 1:2

I do not know if it's rare or not, but it's an inexpensive and very interesting lens.

Yes, it had a reputation as a good lens, at least for its time.
Results look very good.
What camera/adapter did you use?
They are not too common and the prices can be quite variable due to small numbers coming up for sale.

Sony A7 + noname adapter, bought from Ebay seller 'ramir73' (before that I bought from him an excellent adapter for Canon 50/0.95)

Congrats, Tom. I must say I'm a little bit jealous.
I've wanted a Macron for years.

Not that easy to find, the Miranda Macron.

Thanks Walter.
I recognised it in this picture from a Miranda lot.
It was the only lens in the lot that I was interested in, but had to buy the full case of course.
All the lenses are in good shape but the Macron has some issues between the rear two cemented elements - little things that look like snowflakes.
It still performs well though.

Nice catch. The upside down lens is an Auto Miranda 50mm f1.9, I believe.
The camera on the left, has an Auto Miranda 135mm f2.8 lens mounted on it.?

Yes, I was hoping it was the 1.9/50 but it turned out to be the 1.8. Smile
The 135mm lens is a Soligor with a T4 adapter for Miranda. Mot a Miranda labelled lens, but still quite capable.
I have just done a few more with the Macron.
Here we go.
