Did anyone succeed in reaching the blades? I am stuck on both ends where there is still a piece of glass left. You can see the force used to unscrew last lens tubes has torn holes i made. It still wasn't enough. I guess some glue was used. Any experience? Possibly different direction to unscrew? Any help will be highly appreciated.

As always some internal dust made me go that (too) far. It's also sought after Nikon mount Sad.

The rear element should not be too difficult to screw off(at least in the two copied I owned). If you cannot screw off it off, try to apply smalll amount of organic solvents to the circled area.

That's important advice giving me hope. Do you remember the direction to unscrew perhaps?

Hello,

Sorry to bump such an old topic. I have a Kiron 28mm f2 with oil on the blades. I dismantled it and could clean the blades (lots of alcohol.. Laughing ); the aperture is now operating well.

However I would like to clean the front lens; do you know how to dismantle the front lens?

Blades before/after:

Dust (and maybe a little bit of fungus?)

Where I am right now in the dismantle operation, I removed the circlips surrounding the aperture plate: (I see no screws)

Hoping for help,
Bye!

EDIT: In preview mode links/images are showing, but my post is broken Sad

The blades aren't supposed to close this deep.

2019!

I'm having issues with access to the front of the diaphragm.

Simply can't remove the front groups completely. I got as far as the OP in the front, the rear was no issue.

I see another post where someone else posted before and after photos.. with the front of his aperture blades de-greased.. but.. his front group is visible in both photos. Did he simply clean the front and rear.. from the rear? (soaking in degreaser?)

It seems to do a proper cleaning the entire aperture assembly should be removed.. and that is where I am stuck. Removal of the aperture assembly has to be done from the front!

This lens is like 20% thread locker by weight. So acetone, lots of acetone and a strap wrench. Eventually the threads will budge.
