Hi friends! Yesterday arrived long expected adapter "Speedbooster canon to Sony NEX". IT IS AWESOME! It turns my crop 1,5 to 1,09 and adds one stop of light. So for example canon 50mm f1.4 is turned to 54,5 f1 - fully electronically controled (except for AF, it is very slow). But enough about canon. You can use old lenses adaptable for canon of course. Today arrived MIRANDA 24mm 2.8 Macro which means 26mm f2. It's very good even at f2! a few pictures may convince you more than my words
unfortunately, today was terrible weather!

Very interesting.
Please, don't hesitate to share more samples, or more lenses. _________________ "Plonger les choses dans la lumière, c'est les plonger dans l'infini" Léonard De Vinci

I wouldn't advertise it like that there is no 54,5 f1 or 26mm f2. Simply, if you transfer it to 35mm format you still have approximately (lets say 9% does not make a big difference) the same image (50 1.4 or 24mm 2. and DOF you would get with a full frame without the reducer. Don't expect also any low light performance gain either compared to a full frame. Full frame have better ISO performance, because they are larger and the lenses used with them can capture more light.
But don't get me wrong, the whole idea is excellent and your photos prove that is performs great! We can now have full frame performance in a miniature package. Looks really great! |

I agree Sammo. It is FF in a pocket with many options for manual lenses.
I can test what I have:
Miranda 24mm f2.8, CZ Jena 35mm f2.4, modified (ex FD) canon 85mm f1.2, prakticar 135mm f2.8, samyang 35mm f1.4, samyang 14mm f2.8, canon EF 50mm 1.4, canon 85mm f1.8 /last two not really manual lenses, but on sony it is/. _________________ HUGE speedbooster fan! http://www.metabones.cz/?lang=en |
