The 60/1.2 is a limited edition lens with reportedly very good performance. It's in the same product class as the 'Jahre' Planars. So the price is not that surprising... |

Rarity is a big part of the equation. I have a few lenses that are available in very small numbers, like none are for sale right now. Of course I will ask an arm and a leg when I decide that it's time for them to go. |

There were only 800 units made of this lens, so they are few and far between. They perform very nicely according to reviews on the web (never even say one, much less handled one):
1) https://jerrybei.com/reviews/2018/6/10/konica-hexanon-60mm-f12-lens
2) http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2013/01/07/clash-of-the-titans-the-ultimate-leica-m-super-fast-5060-lens-battle-by-kristian-dowling/
But if 7,500 quid strikes you as a bit much, take a look at this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KONISHIROKU-60MM-F1-2-HEXANON-LEICA-LEITZ-M39-1457/142904188967?hash=item2145c0e027:g:8J8AAOSwvmxbcYIY:rk:2:pf:0
Hey, it's reduced 4.500 quid... so don't be so difficult now, and fork out the dough _________________

You don't need to be logged in.
1) To the right of the big blue SEARCH button, click "Advanced"
2) On the page that shows up, under the big blue SEARCH button, click "Sold listings"
This will show you all auctions and BIN listings that actually sold, not merely ended. It's a good indication of the range of prices items sell for.
(but don't expect to see the Hexanon 60/1.2 there too often)
