Hello All,

I picked up a Fujinon 55mm f2.2 in X mount. Is it possible to change (remove the x mount ring & replace with) the mount to EF or M42 or Sony FE?

If not possible, any suggestion for cheap adapter to one of these mounts will help.

Thanks,
-Michael.

The Fujinon 55mm f/2.2 has some "unusual" out-of-focus effects, which can make it appealing in some circumstances.

Unfortunately Fujica's AX mount has a shorter back-focus than M42, so converting to M42 and retaining infinity focus is probably not practical.

A search for "AX to EF adapter" or "AX to FE adaptor" produces some apparently pertinent results, but I have neither Canon or Sony equipment so am unable to comment as to suitability.

I've used Fujica lenses for many years and have always been pleased with the results, good luck Smile

Hello,

Thank you both. Yes, the register distance is different, so I would loose infinity. For the intended use (portraits) it is fine.

Reluctant to spend on the adapter for this low budget lens, I made a DIY attempt and it was pretty successful [1st sample on A7r].

The lens sits 1mm out from the EF adapter mounting plate & it can focus till 8'. I need to find a way to close that gap, then I would be able to focus beyond this.

Thanks,
-Michael.
