No, it is simply attached to the Fuji with M42 adapter, no extension or helicoid.
I have a helicoid, but did not think to use it Smile

Nice photos.
Is there a big difference between this lens and the 1.8 55mm?

No, as far as I know they are effectively the same lens.

Asahi wanted a cheaper lens to offer vs. the f/1.8, for marketing purposes, so they put in a fixed aperture to make f/2.0 the wide open setting. That way, they could use existing parts and tooling. Similarly, when they wanted a lower priced SLR body with 1/500 sec. as the fastest shutter speed, they just made its shutter speed knob not show 1/1000 sec.
