Lens was coated, but cleaned before I bought so I don't think so much coating is left. Made before 1950 I guess.

Very good shot, Atila.

Regarding the Helios-40 is it a copy of CZ Biotar 75mm f:1.5 (slightly with a focal lenght change) ?

Don't know finish is 100% different. I know Russians kidnapped many Zeiss engineers and their machinery. I guess this lens is designed for Russians or by Russians. This lens has so much different character than Biotar 75mm f1.5. This lens has great bokeh one of the best , soft at wide open , but in good way and sharp at every other aperture. Biotar 75mm f1.5 sharp like hell even at wide open and it has almost NO bokeh even at wide open.

Nice to see your daughter again, Attila! She has clearly grown up!
You are always the best in portraits in my opinion.

Lens maybe so and so but you have other copies I think, this is important as historical piece!

Very cool shot. I wonder how you can get a good focus at 1.5 with a digital camera, I usually go crazy.

And I like the soft bokeh of that lens...

I like to this lens in my opinion sharpness/softness just perfect for portraits.
This lens most of the time available around 200-300 USD, this is a gift for us.

Was doing some research on 000 serials for Helios-40 ; but have to confirm information on this original post, M39 version was produced after 1957 and 0xxx serials are covering the 57 - 1960 period ; after that the serial was 61xxx, 62 xxx etc, indicating the year of manufasturing.
So your 8,5cm has to be a 59 or 60 or something, not before 50, that seems to be impossible for me.
