Well, wasn't sure about this one, but it was a good deal...
Here shot wide open (except mentioned) on Panasonic GH4
CA is quite pronounced, wide open it shows some glow, stopped down it gets
razor sharp and shows high contrast. Focusing is challenging to say the least.
BG separation is of course excellent, should make a great portrait lens.
Full set is here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kds315/albums/72157696060561184
incl. some stopped down comparision shots. _________________ Klaus - Admin

Lovely, Klaus! May is such a beautiful month - it can be almost overwhelming. In a good way!
Did you use extension tubes to get so close?

Thanks Tim, indeed it is! I used a variable M42 helicoid to get closer. _________________ Klaus - Admin

Beautiful, Klaus!
The 135/1.8 seems to be a Sonnar and it shows.
Cheers!

Merci bien Sebastien!
It looks like one indeed, but there are many drawings around of that lens,
not sure what it really is...

Do you find with your m42 helicoid that in some situations you get flair or sometimes low contrast? With mine it is only with certain lenses. The pentax 50mm f4 macro is the worst. If there is any lighter color areas in the background I get an area in the center that is desaturated. I sprayed the inside with flat black paint and that helped some. It is still an issue though and at longer extensions it is worse. I think the light is reflecting off the helicoid grease. Oddly, I have an EOS version that is not nearly as bad. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |
