With the icarex to EF and EF to NEX helical I can focus just a few inches from the subject. Truly a gem of the classic glass era.

I don't have any planar HFT/color-Ultron now for comparison but I think they are different.

These are different lenses. You may check on flickr for their bokeh performance. There are many examples.
FYI the Carl Zeiss Ultron 50mm/F1.8 for the Icarex was designed by Tronnier and produced from 1968 to 1972 and
the Carl Zeiss Planar/Rollei Planar AKA Voigtlaender Color Ultron 50mm/F1.8 for the Rollei 35 AKA Voigtlaender VSL was designed by Glatzel and produced from 1974 to 1981.
