Hello!
I recently received some stranges lenses.
I know where it comes from : Leningrad (GOMZ), made in 1950. But I have no idea what is the purpose of those things. It looks like giant microscope lens.
One a is monocle with 2 lenses in front. Two others have complex optical design (5 or 6 elements inside). I tested the two big (the monocle does not form image), they give pretty good results, like a normal lens (but they are slow lenses naturely). The x20 almost cover FF (vigneting on A7), the x50 cover like a 8mm cine lens.
No diaphragme.
Anyone have idea about the use of those lenses?
I have talked with several friends about it. The main idea is that it is naturely technical lenses. Maybe gauge projection lens.
Here are some photos (before the cleaning, sorry)

It was made by Gosudarstvennyi Optiko-Mekhanicheskii Zavod - GOMZ - and that's all I know. _________________ LENSES & CAMERAS FOR SALE.....

Possibly from an early Russian industrial measurement / profile projector https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profile_Projector or optical comparator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_comparator?
The magnification range (20x, 50x) would support this idea...
Here some modern such lenses: http://www.bowersgroup.co.uk/row/product-range/optical-measuring/profile-projectors/rh400-087-baty-r400-profile-projector-lens-systems.html
I have one in my collection, Nikon made: http://www.macrolenses.de/ml_detail.php?ObjektiveNr=355
Usually very good, very sharp lenses with VERY LITTLE DISTORTION! _________________ Klaus - Admin
