Nice test photos! Lens makes smooth bokeh from background that should produce busy bokeh! Photo#5....

Very pleasing images! I have the earlier non-AI version and like the results, although it's tricky to manage wide open at close ranges - I have to use a tripod to be sure of getting the focus somewhere near where I want it. It's not too sharp at f1.2 but it gets crisper already at f1.4 and really "bites" once closed down to f2 - I think it's then at least as good as my 50/2 HC Nikkor.

Like 1 yes not the sharpest 1.2 even if mine is AIS, but good enough I love it, just like others what I hold in past.
I love background separation of this lens, I can sharpen a bit if need in post process no big deal.

I would disagree about lack sharpness at ƒ/1.2. Wide open, there's an ethereal low contrast and loads of spherical aberrations. If you look closely, resolution is in fact quite high. An idiosyncratic lens for sure, but a mechanical gem and still one of the sharpest Nikkors from aperture ƒ/2 and smaller.

On the downside, I've never seen more coma from a lens at ƒ/1.2-2.
