Chris, are you sure it has not gotten a bit hazy?
I remember mine having quite some high contrast...

I was going to say that contrast seems a bit low, and after reading the comment by Klaus, the first thing I'd do is shine a flashlight through it and see if there is haze on one of the elements, did you buy it without caps? I've had a few that had a nice layer of dust on them from sitting in the display for so long.

I haven´t used my Kiron sister of this lens since some years. But back then I thought it has sometimes less contrast than expected.
When I remember correct I found it could have hotspots - what could be a contrast loss in different situations.
