My Tamron AD-2 Collection

I've been threatening for a while now to show my Tamron Adaptall-2 collection. I'm quite proud of it, although I'll be the first to admit that it's not yet complete. I really hope to add a 180mm f/2.5 LDIF to it one day, and I wouldn't mind adding the rather uncommon 400mm f/4 LDIF as well. But those are high-ticket items and they'll have to wait for a while. In the meantime, this is what I've managed to accumulate over the past eight years.

No fancy, catalog-quality photos here. Just a few quick snaps to show what I have. Taken with my NEX 7 and 18-55mm kit lens.

From the top, left to right: 31A SP 200-500mm f/5.6, 60B SP 300mm f/2.8 LDIF w/hood, 23A SP 60-300mm f/3.8-5.4 w/hood (x2),
28A SP 28-135mm f/4-4.5, 55BB SP 500mm f/8 (w/case and hood), 30A SP 80-200mm f/2.8 LD, 19AH SP 70-210mm f/3.5,
27A SP 28-80mm f/3.5-4.2, 01A, SP 35-80mm f/2.8-3.8,
01BB 24mm f/2.5, 52B SP 90mm f/2.5, 103A 80-210mm f/3.8-4,
151B SP 17mm f/3.5, and a few miscellaneous AD-2 mounts.

Here's more of a top view of the lenses.

And I realized after shooting the above photos, that I'd left out a lens. My 13A SP 24-48mm f/3.5-3.8 was still attached to my Pentax MX.

I also forgot to include the 140F 1.4x and two 01F 2x teleconverters I also own.

I bought almost all these lenses from eBay sellers, and most I got at excellent prices. Many eBay dealers (and buyers) aren't aware of just how good these lenses are, which often makes very good deals possible.

Hi Kryss, oh I'm interested in the 180mm alright. Problem is, I can't afford it. Cool

By the way, what's an 18f?

Nice collection Michael. I have more of the "footsoldiers": 35-70's, 28-70mm's, 28-50mm, 35-135mm's, 70-150mm, 70-210mm 46A, 75-250mm.... I have the standard primes: 24mm, 28mm, 135mm, 200mm, couple of 52B 90mm macros, SP 54B 300mm. I also have SP28-135mm, SP24-48mm, a top condition 19AH and a couple of fungus infected ones in the project box, ditto 23A, the SP mirrors including the 06B 350mm, 60B 300mm (slightly knackered), SP28-80mm, SP 35-80mm, SP 35-210mm, the 70-350mm 05A, the 200-500mm 06A (neither of which have impressed me performance wise) and count 'em two 31A's (temporarily - 1 needs to be sold)! Plus 01F's and 014F.
I also have a 47A - the 70-210mm autofocus adaptall. But I haven't been able to get the AF to work.
I just recently acquired a couple more PKA mounts. That's lets see aha 9 in the box, +3 on lenses = time to sell a few more and recoup some funds!

However you have a couple of plums I don't - the 17mm and the SP 30A 80-200mm.

Very nice collection you have there Cooltouch. You've got a few that I wanted for a while. I was after a 75-150 f2.8 soft which seems to be remarkably rare but have since decided to concentrate on mamiya medium format optics. (as I can use them on both medium format cameras and 35mm)

Here is my small collection.

Front Row (left to right)
Hood for 28-80
Hood for 35-80
Tripod mount (assume it's off an 80-200)
Tamron SP 17mm f3.5 51B (no mount plastic cap)
Tamron 24mm f2.5 01BB (PK mount fitted)
Tamron SP 24-48mm f3.5-3.8 13A (FD mount fitted)
Tamron SP 24-48mm f3.5-3.8 13A + hood (OM mount fitted)
Tamron SP 35-80mm f2.8-3.8 01A (Nikon mount fitted)
Tamron SP 28-80mm f3.5-4.2 27A (FD mount fitted)
Tamron SP 1.4x Teleconverter 140F (EF mount fitted)

Back row (left to right)
M42 mount
Canon EF mount
Tamron SP 2x Teleconverter 01F (late) (FD mount fitted)
Tamron SP 2x Teleconverter 01F (early) (FD mount fitted)
Tamron 135mm f2.5 03B (no mount plastic cap)
Tamron SP 180mm f2.5 63B (Nikon mount fitted)
Tamron SP 70-210mm f3.5 19AH (no mount plastic cap)
Tamron SP 300mm f5.6 54B (no mount plastic cap)
Tamron 75-250mm f3.8-4.5 04A (FD mount fitted)

Marcus, nice collection! Got any pics?

Kei, also nice collection! What is that case for in the back row? The 180/2.5? (one of my "dream" Tamron lenses, btw). Lucky you, you have a front cap for your 17mm. I don't, but at least I have the hood. Oh, and yes, that tripod mount you have is for the 80-200/2.8 LD. Now all you need is the lens!

After seeing your nicely organized photo, it makes me want to shoot my collection again. I just arranged them haphazardly for my photos.

I forgot all about the rectangular Tamron cases. I must have a half-dozen or more of them floating around here. I never use them, so I don't think to include them.

Hey, this is fun! Keep the photos coming, guys!

That case is a bit of an unknown. The 180 came in it with the 1.4x TC and tripod mount fitted when I bought it. The 180 was supposed to come in a special brown leather pouch. I reckon it's a case from a 500/8 as the foam inside the box is designed for a broader lens than the 180.

The lens cap on that 17 is actually just an ordinary 67mm tamron cap rather than the push on original.
