Wich 16mm C mount lenses in the 1.4 - 1.5 1” class? MFT

Been using long time in researching the web after which 16mm C mount
lenses in the 1.4 - 1.5 1” class, for use with Micro 4/3 still photography.
So, i´m looking into these small wonders…confusing.
what i want, is speed (shallow DOF) quite some vignetting is fine,
Sharp in the middle,(don´t care much about sharpness the corners)
And Bokeh! Ahhh… Bokeh. swirly - soft .

SCHNEIDER XENON 1,5/25 25mm C-MOUNT,

( 0.95 versions is out of the question,weight-size-prize)

Cooke Kinic F1.5 25mm C-MOUNT

Cooke Ivotal 25mm f1.4 C-mount

These ones comes in either f1.4 or f1.5….. what´s the difference,
except for the f/ ?

And what´s the difference between the Ivotal VS the Kinic ?!

I don`t expect all these questions answered though, bu can someone
please hint me on the right website/forum/overwiew?

I really like the Cooke Kinic F1.5 25mm. It swirls alot but stops swirling stopped down. The near focus distance is also very good.

Cooke Ivotal 25mm f1.4 C-mount ?!

There are quite a few ivotals on the eBay-
but the kinic are scarce....
By the way,you dont happy to have a kinic
for sale,do you?

The Ivotal 25mm is also a well known lens and perform very well on a M4/3 camera. I have a copy in beat-up condition but it still perform OK on a EM-5.

So they are probably optical different too

The Kinic focuses down to 1 inch which is pretty decent for an old cine lens. The norm is more like 2 inch on similar lenses from other manufactors from the same period.

Biotar 1.4/25 from the Pentaflex16


There is some vignetting but if you carefully compose the picture, you don't even need to crop, it can be part of the picture.
Great Biotar bokeh. Sensitive to stray light but the lens hood I tried increased vignetting a bit.
There is a dedicated adapter available from ebay, but it's pretty expense. You can machine a M42 Adapter, a friend did that for me and it was not really difficult.

What I DO RECOMMEND even more is the Zeiss Jena TEVIDON f1.4/25mm

Very sharp lens, rich in contrast, great colors, but no swirls, little vignetting, focus down to 0.25m
