500mm f/8.0 an f/5.6 lenses using ED glass. Saw them on lenstip but there is no information about them that I can find. Did these lenses ever get produced (as opposed to the regular non-ED glass 500mm f/8.0 ubiquitous "Girl watcher" lens that's been around since the 60's under various companies like Spiratone, Quantaray, etc?

A 500mm f/5.6 ED telescope will run about $1500.00 so if the lenses were more favourably priced, it would be interesting to play with one.
