Are there more than one variation of this lens? Can I find them with and without coating?

the T* in the name mean that the lens is coated

Can I use this adapter for the lens?

if you want to use it on sony nex/alpha yes.
but i recommend buying adapter with 4 screws instead of 3 like this ( they hold the metal ring on the black part)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dollice-Contax-Yashica-C-Y-Mount-Lens-To-Sony-NEX-E-Adapter-A6300-A5000-A7-A7R-/152259251508?hash=item23735bcd34:g:zh8AAOSw5cNYGE9~

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Contax-Yashica-C-Y-Lens-to-Sony-NEX-5-NEX-C3-NEX-5N-NEX7-NEX-5R-NEX-6-Adapter-/201199491806?hash=item2ed86c9ade:g:6QEAAOSwajVURjCF

i got one with 3 screws, they are tiny and one break when i but a big lens. KF concept put 4 and bigger screws

.
if you have multiple lens mount you can get a canon eos to sony adapter, then buy tiny adapter like this
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/EMF-AF-Confirm-Adapter-for-Contax-Yashica-CY-Lens-to-Canon-EOS-1100D-DSLR-DC744-/302133018722?hash=item4658880062:g:wmEAAOSwImRYIikX
so you can get ligther bag if you carry multiple mount lens in same times
(they exist for olympus om ; leica, contax, rollei. NOT for canon FD, minolta)

What about using 2x teleconverter on this lens. Will that give a good result? I´m planning to buy a Nikkor 300mm f4.5 ED-IF AI-s, but if a good teleconverter on the zeiss lens will give a similar IQ, then that solution will be more affordable for me.

Forget teleconverters, they usually suck.

2x tele will make it an uninspiring 270/5.6 and even the modern 2x teleconverters often only work well with a limited set of focal distances.

The Nikon ED-IF 300mm is pretty darn good at f8. Below that fstop, not so good. The ED non IF version was apparently very decent from wide open, but very rare. The Canon FD 300mm f4 L version is from reports very good even wide open but prices have gone up over the years unfortunately.

Yeah, even with a very good TC, that barely makes sense. Zeiss recommends the Mutar II for the 135/2.8, the usual prices (~50-100€) are quite ok but if you're only going to use with the 135 it's not worth it.

If you want a 300mm, I'd recommend the Canon nFD 300/5.6, I'm pretty sure the Sonnar 135 on a Mutar II wouldn't be any sharper and the Canon will cost you less than any Contax TC.

Dammit, I was hoping* that I was the only one hunting for a bargain on the 300/4L!
