Hello everyone.
I am hoping that someone can shed some light on this lens.
I could find nothing in my online searches.
It is a G.Leitmeyr Munchen Doppel-Anastigmat Sytar 4,5/135 mm lens with shutter for a format larger than 35mm.
I do not know which format it is most suitable for and would be grateful for some guidance.
Thanks in advance
OH

These lenses are commonly found on 9x12 plate cameras.

Interesting looking lens. I just picked up an old lens in a dial type shutter. It made some interesting photos when cobbled together onto my A7 with BluTak.

Yes, very typical lens of the 1920s.
These can be quite sharp.
Its a 4 in 4 design like most of the Doppel Anastigmats.
With an Ibsor (predecessor to the Prontor) this was a mid-range option as German plate cameras went in those days. Top of the line would have been Compur shutters and a Tessar or something more exotic.
They are wasted on digital of course, other than to try.
They are meant to cover quite a large bit of sheet film.
135's should cover 4x5 quite well, as on a Speed Graphic, though with very limited (or no) movements.
They were used on 9x12 (smaller than 4x5) as these plate cameras normally had a good range of rise/fall and left/right shift.

Lens arrived today and is in excellent condition for its age.
All shutter speeds are working and are at least approximately correct: - 1 - 2 - 5 - 10 - 25 - 50 - 100 - B - T
Aperture is marked thus:
4.5 - 9 - 12.5 - 18 - 25 - 36 - 50
I will use it on my Horseman 45HD
