Hi there,
I am looking for a small camera to have with me and that would make me look like an "amateur"
I would be shooting film at iso 1600 and apart of the auto mode a manuual mode (or EC dial) would be nice to have.
I would like to thank you for your help
Regards

I like my little Yashica 35 CC but it has no EC- or shutter dial.

thanks guys for the replies.
What about shutter sound? Being discrete is also needed. The biggest drawback with all these lovely cameras is that they do not feature exposure compensation (useful for high contrast scenes)

Another choice could be the fine, old Minolta Hi-Matic 7s, equipped with an excellent exposure metering system and a very fine, Rokkor lens; the shutter is silent.

+1 for Minolta Hi-Matic 7s which can be used auto and set to fully manual : exposure, shutter speed.
Lens is Rokkor 45mm f:1.8.
Shutter speeds go from B to 1/500.
Also the Konica Auto S2 which can be set to auto and to fully manual. Very nice to use and very silent.
Lens : Hexanon 45mm f:1.8
Shutter speeds from B to 1/500.

That Revue 400SE (just like the Vivitar 35ES and Konica Auto S3) is a look alike Minolta 7S-II;
the Minolta 7s (see picture of Olivier) is the very nice older and bigger one. |

you just have to calculate it yourself - meter first right and adjust shutter +1 or -1 etc
Olympus RC 35 guide suggests you change ASA but I wouldn't - because you usually forget to set it back

You are right. I mixed it up with the 2nd version.
However, it's nevertheless my recommendation; i.e. 7S II or 400SE.
I own the Revue variant. _________________ Thomas Bernardy

It is a good recommandation for sure.
