Let me present you a "rare bird" which has flown in to join the other rare ones in my nest...

This is its rather elaborate 11e/11g optical scheme, which was computed around 1970 by Prof. Glatzel,
ZEISS' Designer in Chief at this time:

All that based on a NASA demand for an extraterrestrial lens which covers UVC - NIR (200 - 700nm),
but with a speed of f2 using CaF2 (Calcium Fluoride) and synthetic Quartz (fused silica).

And this is how it looks as a finished lens in barrel with adjustable iris built in (the blue light was just a reflection from my PC monitor):

It is capable of rather unusual results, even in visible light:

But also very scientific ones...

and such...

Aaaah, Glatzel, Planar UV & those colours, I will dream of this tonight!
May I ask for some info?
Why "Option" in combination with NASA request? Did they plan to go east?😉
How to focus, is it for bellows operation?
Do You know angle oft view, medium format possible?
Is this an individual or standard (Contaflex?) mount ?

Many thanks for showing US this impressing piece of optics!
Thank You Dog

Pardon, did overread image circle in the link above!
It's less than 35mm format.
