Hi,
Don't know ifthere is a page on these one already, can't find it as the search engine seems to be down...
So here is a first impressions page on a Nikon F (Ai) version : (in french, sorry) http://musashichan.com/objectifs/mir/mc-mir-24-35mm-f-2
Note that the N in cyrillic is a H in roman alphabet so i can be confusing. N (H on the lens) is for Nikon mount, M for M42 mount ; but i'm sure you all are aware of this...
Definition WO on this lens seems to be very very good...

I love the precision of the bokeh for the Zuiko (Tessar style) but i prefer the Mir WO on those shoots and in most case. Same as when i have to choose between a Tessar vs Helios-44 depending on the result wanted.
Very interesting shoots ! Colors are nice on the Zuiko. _________________ Visit my website : http://www.vintagephotography.fr

Now need comparison between Mir-24N (Arsenal) and Mir-24M (KMZ) .
I find my Mir-24N to be a very good performer, but I don't have lot of experience exepted soviet lenses, so hard ot say objectivily. _________________ Pierre

I've been thinking about getting a Mir-24 copy many times. However, its corner performance seen in photo samples taken at infinity was always a turn down.
Are your copies corner-sharp enough on inf@f/8.0? |

Always seemed OK to me - this is either f/8 or f/11 - can't remember which...

I agree, that one seems quite convincing. |

I like the way it's not completely erase the background but just make a painting of it. Nice shot ! _________________ Visit my website : http://www.vintagephotography.fr

I have made a small comparison of 35mm lenses http://forum.mflenses.com/viewtopic,p,1470822.html. I think my copy of Mir 24N is handling image corners just fine at f8. |

I know, it never lets you down! But Mir is more compact and very good all-around lens. _________________ Kalle
