I know there are several and to me the 140mm F1.8 looks to have the quality I want, but that is one heavy beast.

I am also considering the 120mm or maybe the 100mm 35KP to keep the weight down but dont know much about them and the OOF effect.

I already have a Meyer Optik 80mm F2.8 Diaplan mounted in an old 50mm lens housing, so not sure if its worth trying the 35KP 65, 75, or 85 or maybe even the 100mm lens.

Thanks

Here the 100mm: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kds315/albums/72157644011296955
and the 120mm: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kds315/albums/72157643847141845

The heavier Planar design lenses are quite better than the lighter Petzval designs.

Depends on what you like better.

Petzval ko120m and ko140m are more effect lenses. The Planar versions is way better like told Klaus.
I appreciate a lot 100mm/1.8

I did not know there were planar versions. I just received a new K0-120M.

What are the the planar ones called?

Best regards,
Sigurd

The same unfortunately, only the focal length and speed and the higher weight may be used to differentiate them.

So are all the 120mm and 140mm F1.8 lenses the heavier Planar designed lenses?

Looking around I see that the 120mm lens has two different bodies.

One has a smaller tapered body front element and one apparently has a larger front element and the body is not as tapered in the front.

Which one do I want ?

Yes exactly, the one with larger front is the PLANAR type!
