1) Soligor 200mm F2.8
2) Minolta 200/2.8 TELE ROKKOR
3) Canon NFD 200mm F2.8
4) CARL ZEISS JENA SONNAR 200/2.8 M42
5) Others

What is your recommendation?

Nikon 180/2.8 ED is in my wish list. It is 20mm shorter but delivers simply wonderful results.

I used to have a Soligor. It's a pleasant lens, heavy, built like a tank. However I found focusing to be a daunting task. I don't know whether it's my ability, or the lens, but I could never a sharp enough image at 2.8.

Do you mind describing the characteristics of each of them?

It shall be Lens problem, 200mm is very easier for focusing

While it's a little shorter focal length at 180mm, but the tamron sp ld if 180mm f2.5 adaptall2 lens is outstanding, even wide open.
Cost is kinda high now because it was a limited edition, around $700 on ebay today in nm condition.

The better of all, IMHO, is the AF canon 1,8/200.

In MF, the 180/3,4 Leica Apo Telyt . 180 is near 200 and 3,4 is near 2,8. And the IQ is excellent.

I know we are drifting, but the Nikkor 200/2 in early manual focus versions can be had for less than 1000 euros if you are patient. Just as an alternative to the Canon that was mentioned (Very large and heavy though as is the Canon).

Define your budget and you can get more accurate hints. If you have 200 USD that is different than if you have 2000 USD ...
from your list I had Soligor, Sonnar and Minolta, Soligor is cheap and image quality cheap too.. Minolta is best option from these three , due size I talk about latest Minolta.

from 180mm I had Tamron , Nikon ED non ED, Carl Zeiss Jena ,Carl Zeiss , Olympus OM and many others too, I like best Zeiss lenses.

+1 on the Minolta if you are on a budget.

I would choose Tamron 80-200mm f2.8

f3.5 is near f2.8
If you are prepared to accept an f3.5 200, then there are dozens of lenses at a fraction of the cost of 200 f2.8
OH

Go for a zoom - the Tokina AT-X 80-200 / 2.8 is a worthy contender.

Thanks to all !

But dont gotoff the subject, I means my budget can just afford usd400 Max. Therefore Thousand dollar or euro shall be not my cup of tea.

So far may interest to follow Attila opinion - Minolta but seems still a bit far away then my ability to pay. Anyway, Dear Attila, will you show me the Lens looking or other particulars of this Minolta, I dont want to get wrong version after bid. One more question is it serious on dispersion when full open, please advice or show me the photo to prove, thanks again.

I am in sparse company here, but for the sake of diversity, my suggestion is Vivitar Series 1 200/3.

from your list: Minolta

Otherwise a Contax Sonnar 2.8/180mm.. but the mentioned Vivitar Series 1 200/3 would be a good (and realively cheap) option too.

$200 sounds a bit on the high side for me.. did the prices rise this much now?

If it doesn't have to be an f/2.8 and an f/3.5 is fast enough, you should try to get hold of a Russian Telear-N 3.5/200. Very, very good lens and not too expensive (it's hardly known).
