Aero lens apparently for large format photography for spy aircraft. 8x10 11x14 size. Maybe build a camera box around it with a 11x14 focussing screen and record that digitally with a flat field macro lens.

Something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0Lsnutki0E

Need a bigger shirt pocket for that! Smile

Bought another half-price Macro-Takumar with a focus problem -- would not focus to infinity. Opened up & removed a loose screw. Works perfectly now.

Asahi Macro-Takumar 1:4 / 50 (1:1)

That is a rare and interesting lens.
I am interested to see images from it if you can find some time to take some.
Thanks for sharing
Tom

PS - just saw your images on the Kyoei Acall thread

Subsequent to my acquisition of the komine made vivitar 35-70mm f2.8-3.5 (post Aug 13th) I spotted a rare-as-hens-teeth PKA mount one!

I am keen to check this one out actually, because although the PKM mount one took some nice pics, test pics showed some decentering, softer on the right side.

I got this lens with a Miranda B Camera last week, it's a Miranda Supreme 105mm F/2.8

Earlier versions were sold as an Orion Supreme lens. 4 elements 4 groups. My copy is quite soft wide open with a distinct glow and bokeh reminiscent of a certain triplet from the same era.

I have a copy of Supreme for some years. It is supposed to be a lens with very good resolution on wide open as shown on the ads below. I will test mine later when it is less hot here.

Vivitar Ser.1 35-85 f2,8 in MD mount, made by Kiron.
Looks like anty tank hand grenade, heavy.
In comparison to the same size and shape Nikkor 24-120 f3,5-5,6 D, Nikkor is better.

I built a nested cardboard box for a huge process lens. To focus looked through a hole in the lens board to a sheet of printer paper pasted on the back wall where the film/focus screen would go. A camera with closeup lens could just as easily photograph the paper through the hole. To me the image was much clearer than with ground glass focus screen.

Certainly a rare beast - I'd love to see/use one ... never ever accounted for one here in Switzerland, though!

Some years ago I've seen one at a Zurich photo store - but didn't care to test/buy it since distortion seems top be quite high. At that time I was doing a lot of architecture for a >600 page book on Zurich churches, and i was using the Nikkor AiS 3.5/35-70mm if a zoom in that range was needed (Nikkor distortion <1> 2.5% as far as I rememember).

(sellers pic)

These don't come up very often, I've had a search for it for a while. It's a name badged Tamron Model 360, and looks to be #730 made. Released in 1960, the same year as their 58mm F/1.2 lens, it looked to be from a period when Tamron were trying to make a name for themselves. It was made until 1969. With 5 elements in 3 groups, I am curious to find out what kind of images it can make.
