Two Carenar lenses, a 2.8/35mm and a 2.8/135mm. They came together with a Topcon RE 300 plus Topcor RE 1.7/55mm - the whole lot for a mere CHF 3.--. Now these Carenars are bad! Corners never get sharp, even at f8 or f11. Some of the worst lenses i have ever tested! They look similar - both in performance as in appearance - as the corresponding Elicar lenses.

I am interested to hear what you think of the Topcor RE 1.7/55mm. It is a Cimko lens I think
Tom

Actually the "medium-fast" normal lenses from the 1970s are quite similar in performance. Comparing them is - to some extent - pixel peeping. I quickly took a few images in the infinity range, from f1.7 to f11, comparing the Topcon (Cimko) 1.7/50mm to the Minolta MD-III 1.7/50mm. Even though the Minolta has 50mm (and thus is distincively more difficult to correct than a 55mm), is slightly better. Not a big deal, but one can see it.

Might be interesting to run a short test comparing the Topcor RE 1.8/5.8cm and 1.8/58mm, the RE 1.7/50mm, and the RE 1.7/55mm.

Stephan

Super-Takumar 28/35. Bought to try, as I've noticed it seems to give a slightly hyper-realistic look on digital. Unless it's just me imagining it. Surprisingly short focusing throw. Probably 110 degrees or so, but I'm not complaining. Having a few 60s rangefinders, I'm familiar with short throws, although they do have a focusing patch. I've decided I quite like it though.

Super-Takumar 200/4. Bought because I think it's just a lovely thing, a lovely design. Appreciably sharp from the quick test shots, although if you pixel peep there's plenty of chroma, much reduced if you go f8 and smaller aperture. I think it may need a bit of time and patience.

EDIT: Typed 2.8 when it is a 3.5.

This lens has intrigued me with some good online comments so I bid on this PK mount one and was pleased to get it for a modest price.

It completes my little family of komine made classic vivitar zooms:

Some interesting Komine Vivitars there for sure.
The 28-90 is one that I have and use from time to time. Excellent lens.
This is the first 70-210 Vivitar by Komine that I have seen owned by a photographer, and I would be interested to see some images from it. It is reputed to be the best of the Vivitar series 1 lenses in that focal length.
Cheers
Tom

This week I added:
A Carl Zeiss 300mm f/4 Olympia
A Canon FD 200mm f/2.8 SSC
A Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 SSC
A Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 SSC
A Yashica ML 28mm f/2.8 (sadly enough this was a bad buy because it was a fungus-lens, but luckily I got my money back)
A Minolta AF 75-300 f/4-5.6 (the old beercan model) in perfect condition.
A Minolta AF 28-135mm, the so-called secret-handshake. Perfect lens but with a broken distance-scale-window.
A Minolta 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5mm lens. The good old one with the macro switch but sadly enough it got sticky blades.
A few Canon camera's (Canon AE1 and... I forgot)
A few Minolta camera's (7000 and 5000?)
A Pallas 135mm f/2.8 (I got this for free with some other deal)
A Zeiss Ikon Super Talon 1:2.5 90mm lens
A Voightlander Vito CLR plus lens (perfect condition)
A Zenit plus Helios 44-M4 (perfect condition).
A Zenit plus Helios 44-2 (perfect condition)

And I am definitely forgetting a few buys (besides a few bags, Minolta flash and other small stuff)

And this is why I never post in this thread.

Super-Takumar 1:3.5/35.

Surprisingly small and, on test shot, surprisingly sharp. I've immediately taken to this lens, which doesn't always happen. It has a luxuriousness of operation to it, although all the Super-Tak's I have seem to display this attribute. I'm not sure it's worth even commenting on.

I'm actually on e-bay specifically looking for a used apsc digital body. I've been looking for two weeks now and my success to date is the purchase of -

Super-Takumar 1:3.5/28.

Super-Takumar 1:4/200.

Super-Takumar 1:3.5/35.

But no camera.

*sigh*

Oh well. I'll keep looking for the camera. At this rate I should end up with a pretty beefy collection of Tak's at least!

I added a Soligor C/D wide-auto 28mm 2.8 (Sn 88xxxxxx) M42 with "macro" and a Minolta MD Celtic 35mm 2.8 to my collection.

Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro

https://www.venuslens.net/product/laowa-25mm-f-2-8-2-5-5x-ultra-macro-2/

I bought this lens in May but the high magnification macro subjects I bought it for were not available in extreme weather. This is all I have done so far.

Linking to others forums to present your work is not really "good style",
IMHO, so please post your work directly here... Wink
