I'd say you were politely downplaying the issue here.
I'll be more blunt: it's an overengineered clusterfuck. I've spent most part of the day servicing it.
Unfortunately front decorative plastic ring was completely seized and eventually shattered like glass 
I've glued it back together, looks ugly now.
As for everything else, I've managed to repair it, and put it back together with no leftover pieces.
Heed my warning people: buy FDn's in excellent condition, you don't want to get up close and personal with them. |

I love my OM system - I do not have any of those, but, this is a great well put together system. pound-to-pound with the Pentax M series in my humble opinion (I'm pentax-biased).

Here are some pictures from the Nikkor-H 50mm on a D700 full frame camera.
The shots were just quick grabs from the garden and I am sure that I could do better if I spent more time at it.

The earlier [6/5] versions (MC-I, MC-II, MC-X) are slightly less sharp than the later [5/5] versions (available as MC-X, and MD-I to MD-III).
I like especially the MD-III version since it is light and has a built-in double lens-hood. The [5/5] is very sharp over the entire image field, even at f2.5. Stopping down to f4 increases the contrast. Lateral CAs are slightly stronger than with the MD 2/85mm, but nothing to worry about. I prefer this lens over the legendary (and heavier) Nikkor 2.5/105mm.
