I picked up this lens recently. Nice heavy build in a small package like most of the ltm lenses.

Would be interesting to see if Canon 50/1.8 LTM can beat it in IQ!

Nice find, good little lens, I was looking for one, it or a Fuji, I found a Fuji first.
The Yashinon is a relatively rare lens, nikkor's and Canon's are much more plentiful.

Edit: just found the listing.... Very good price!

I've just finished cleaning the old grease out of the Auto Yashinon R 50 / 2 about an hour ago, it's all nicely re-lubed and ready to go. It's also Tomioka / Tominon and a quick test last week looks very promising, I'm looking forward to using it. And looking forward to seeing the results of your 1.8. Today I've been using a preset Yashinon R 135 / 3.5 which is wonderful. I'm getting to like old Yashica stuff.

I got it for $200 which is ok consider this is a rare ltm lens.
I have a day off tomorrow to take it for a walk and I will share some results later...

Thank you for comments

Compared against Canon 50mm f/1.8 (bottom)

ISO 200, handheld, f/1.8, 100% crop (click for original size) , jpg straight from camera.

The resolvanse seems to be slightly better on the Yashinon, but the Canon have slightly better contrast. Spherical aberrations are more visible on the yashinon and both have some chromatic issues.
