Wow, that's a really impressive performer, congrats. It's a 4e/3g Tessar/Xenar type, right?

Looks good.
I would like to get a mirrorless camera to try some of these lenses which can be had for not so
much money.
That's some heavy duty looking cake!
Congrats

Yes, the Solinar is Agfa's name for their Tessar/Xenar 4e/3g type. Agfa also used the Agnar and Apotar names, I know the Apotar is a triplet, not sure about the Agnar, never owned one. There was also a Solagon, which was a 6 element double gauss, akin to a Planar, Pancolar or Xenon which was found on the highest end 35mm cameras like the Super Silette.

I think they were all made by Staeble in Munich. Agfa later bought Staeble, it was at some point in the 1960s I believe.

My feelings on the tessar type vary a lot. All of them are sharp in my experience, but far from all won me over with their rendering.

Perhaps my favourite is the Meyer Primotar 3.5/50 although I do have a 60s zebra CZJ Tessar 2.8/50 I am quite partial too.

I have quite a few MF tessars of various lengths, I use a Xenar 3.5/105 quite often but it has never really captured my heart and I tend to prefer it's more humble Radionar 4.5/105 sibling.

Well, tastes are definitely different. I am preferring another style as well. Wink
