Permanent Polarizer?

Just wondering, apart from the light loss, are there any negative side-effects from having a high-quality polarizer always on a lens if not doing panoramas? It's for a fast normal, so not worried about wide-angle issues.

I've done all of the normal googling and FAQ searching on this one - more wondering about personal experience with missed/bad photos from having one on.

Thanks!

None. That's what I used to do in film. I used to have polarizer for everything.
For some reason I gave up on it with digital.

I hardly ever use filters any more, I don't even bring them with me 90% of the time.

I have always polarizers, B+W, on 2 canon lenses 24-70/2.8 and 70-200/2.8 I.
I don't use one on my 17mm Tokina.
