Hi all,

Just wondering if any of the Aussies on here know of people who CLA manual lenses in Australia, particularly NSW? Seems it's a dying art over here. Thanks!

No joy for NSW, but when I had to repair an old OM Vivitar Series 1 90mm F2.5, I called about 9 different places that advertised repairs. The two that did not give off a strong impression that their idea of "repairs" was "the same as shipping it to nikon/canon yourself with extra delays" (and those were the good ones - had many "what's a vivitar" style responses) were -

in Brisbane, and

in Melbourne.

ended up going with Michael's ... who then shipped it on to someone else (sigh), and while it did take a while (2 weeks), it came back spotless and working perfectly. Was like $140 plus 2 lots of postage.

I have had several lenses repaired and cleaned at Taree Camera House.
They have factory trained technicians onsite.
Very happy with their skill and service.

Also in Brisbane with a decent rep from what I have heard - http://www.camerarepairs.com.au/index.htm

Note there is a quote fee of $88, but waived if you go ahead with the job.

I called these guys and they refused to even look at my Vivitar Series 1 lens because they thought they wouldn't be able to get parts.
