Never liked silver painted lenses and the finish tends to wear rapidly.

Plain aluminium bodied lenses however are rather nice.

There's a number of FSU folk with eBay shops who are anodising and chroming alu FSU lenses. Cool

somebody from Olympus OM German club was doing similar with OM lenses.

Generally I prefer black lenses-esp. fopr street shooting, however silver are loking more sexy... Twisted Evil

But if IQ is the same and price higher-count me out!

Must admit-almost bought the new SILVER Voigtlander Nokton 50/1.5 - but on the end paid for much cheaper black version Evil or Very Mad

Well, they are at least "special". And sometimes it's nice to own a rare item.

I like them, and being anodized rather than painted they should stay looking god for a long time. Cool

I agree with this. In my humble opinion, each and every one of the lenses on that page look Ugly (with a capital 'u').

That being said, whatever that guy is doing to the lenses, he's obviously doing a good job. You can tell that the quality of the finishing is great.

Kryss, it looks very nice indeed.
However, given the fact that you get an original Minolta 135/2.8 for only 30 Euro it seems to be rather expensive....
The Minolta does not look that pretty but it produces most probably better looking results. Wink

kryss, that are good arguments, indeed!

However, I am also grazy enough to spend a lot of money for useless things although I am almost 20 years younger....
Besides photo equipment I am also collecting wrist watches. Wink

Thank you invisible...However for all the reasons I stated I should be selling off a ton of my equipment that I have accumulated over the past 50years+ I find it hard to do though. Rolling Eyes

Nice choice Kryss!

Has anyone an idea or tutorial link perhaps how to preserve the text letters/fonts/scale
when doing those chrome or anodizing works?
