.. No.12282 .. just got this beginning of the week aint shot it much yet but i like it
i have to say this is the first lens i have bought in person, in my hand for a good long time, and actually i had a choice of 2 [from 4 the had the week before]
one was more expensive altho it had some scratches on the front and quite a lot of haze inside [[this one they were holding for me]
the other was cheaper because of a small hard-to-see bit of balsaming, but zero haze or scratches, so i bought it
Questions: i beleive this lens went thru several 'series' but im having trouble locating good info on manufacure-date etc
it takes a 40.5mm lenscap
but not the old UK-made 40.5mm BDB close-up lenses ive got |

Here is a good reference for Canon Rangefinder lenses. http://www.taunusreiter.de/Cameras/Canon_Standards.html
I just received a 1.8/35 recently. A very nice lens, small and sharp. |

The most reliable publication on Canon rf lenses so far is Peter Kitchingman's Canon M39 Rangefinder Lenses, 1939-1971 - A Collector's Guide published by the author in Australia. His website is http://canonrangefinder.servehttp.com/. Have a look at the website, there's some basic but reliable information there. If Canon rf lenses interest you, then the book is absolutely a must-have.
The website will tell you yours was made pre-1960, and it would appear from the book that the only changes in the model's life were styling alterations. _________________ Stephen

What focal length were you looking into? I bought an LTM Canon 1.8/50 a few months back and got hooked. Sold off a number of lenses that I really wasn't using and scored: 1.8/35, 1.4/50, 2.0/85, 3.5/100 and 3.5/135. So be careful you don't get hooked or have something ready to sell, like your car.
They all work very well with the A7II. _________________ Steve

heh, well thats where the book might come in handy, i'm totally not sure atm
i was all plotted up to buy a Contax G* 35mm f2 last week, but that there just arent any in UK right now, whereas last week [or month] there were a few, some goog-looking copies too
but i found 4 x Canon 35mm 1.8s all local, so i could like handle them pre-buy .. i was interested in the 35 f1.8 Canon anyway
i also like the simple adapter for LTM, on my LUMIX M/43
if this particular dealer has something i want, i have a few interesting lenses to trade... lessens the blow a bit
he seems to only sell off his website, no ebay even, his prices seem reasonable
that coupled with easy viewing and no delivery costs makes him my current favorite seller .. |

Yes indeed, good spotting sir,
they get a range of 'adaptables', well worth keeping an eye on
AND you kinda have to be quick
their stock moves quickly, cant dawdle, gotta call em if you want it
i'm kinda pleased i've visited now, they did actually hold one of those 35mm Canons for me .. [not the one i wound up buying]
also the guy moaned a little at the Nikkor 135mm i offered in part-exchange, ie that it would be hangin about on the site too long
actually it only lasted a day, its gone already |
