I bought this very special Leica Nah-Summicron f2 50mm (close up Summicron in English) from a friend and video filmer years ago, never seen another one....

Here now taking flowers shots in the park f2 - f4 being used...

I believes Klaus can make the best of every lens and this is no exception. Wink

Is this Nah-Summicron different than the ordinary Summicron Dual Range?

It looks very different Calvin, the lens is built into a Leitz focusing helicoid with Leica thread mount adapting to camera.
The DR Summicron however has two focusing ranges with a gap, this one has not, works from infinity to about 15cm or so.

Even at infinity it appears to very sharp and rich in contrast:

Wow! MFD of 15cm is more than life size for a 50mm lens! The contrast remains pretty good at far distance too.

Could you post a photo of the lens to the MFL Equipment Gallery? I am interested on how it looks like. Smile

This was about as close as one could get. Flower is approx. 10-12mm in diameter (Winter Jasmine) if I remember correctly.

I'll look for lens pictures.
