I bought this a while ago, but never posted any photos. The lens has smooth focusing, no half stops
and goes to 16. I like the wider aperture because it makes it easier for me to focus.
Here are some recent shots. I increased the contrast on a few shots.

It is an excellent lens that also comes as a Sears.
Very sharp.

Yes very nice lens except for no half stops. Doesn't bother me.

I think that there are possibly two Sears versions of this lens.
One is made by Ricoh/Rikenon and the other is a Chinon.
The Chinon is easily as good as the Rikenon.
I think that the 50/55 f1.7 was a sweet spot for lens designers and makers. There are so many good ones about.

I have this lens branded as Sears in P/K mount and it is very sharp, I have mine on fleaBay at the moment very nice lens

I have also found the Rikenon version of the 50 1.7 to be a fantastic lens on my 1100d/T3.
