I have come across two manual lenses which puzzle me. A 35mm 2.8 and a 135mm 2.8 with the name "Dixi". They both have green writing and a "Made in Japan" inscription. Do any of you know who produced them? One of them has a Minolta front cover but whether it's original is uncertain.

I haven't had the time to test them and see if they're any good.

Certainly a merchants brand. There were hundreds.
No way to tell who the makers were, unless you post pictures, to check if they match known models. Even then ID isn't guaranteed.

They look like this.

Look very much like Sankyo/Sankor auto models, based on style, engraving, etc., from the early 1970s.
Similar types were also seen in YS interchangeable mount, but these are fixed mounts.
I could be wrong of course.

I second that. Sankor would be my guess too after seeing the "E" suffix Wink

First time I see lenses branded "Dixi", where are their orgin?

Sankors. I have the 35mm, it's quite good.

Sankors appeared under literally dozens of brands, but Dixi is a new one on me.

These ones are bought in Denmark - and I've seen a couple of them on our national equivalent of Ebay so it seems likely that it's a brand available here some decades ago. But who imported them and labelled them is unknown to me. A German brand merchant seems likely?

Any info on who Sankyo/Sankor was? Are they the same company as Nidec Sankyo?

The older Sankors are to be found in lots of brands in the UK, it seems that almost every small chain sold them in their own branding. I did have a list I'd made of brands I'd seen Sankors under and it was long.

Dixons sold Prinzflex as their house brand, along with some other lenses as well.
