I recently bought an 85mm f2 Nikkor which turned out to have a rangefinder coupling fault. That made it pretty much useless on my Leica but using a tripod and inching the focus scale I did manage to get one shot in focus at f2. From what I can gather, this particular lens was made around 1954 and has the pre-war Sonnar design. I've returned it to the seller and collected my refund as he's not confident he can guarantee to get it focusing accurately. That's a shame because it's a nice (if expensive) lens.
