With Tessar 50/2.8 it can be obtained bubbles.
These can be obtained also with Industar 50-2 which is made by Tesar formula?

Thanks for the reply. I am curious by bubbles possibility with the Industar 50/3.5 lens because it is a cheap and very small, easy to carry.

i think its bokeh is like other Russian lenses. i just took this:

and this one is 44-3:

surprisingly found out my 5$ Super-Lentar 35mm f/2.8 M42 (probably tokina made) could do SB bokeh with strong back-light!

What about CZJ Triotar lenses? Are they with triplets bubbles?

PostPosted: Mon Jan 19, 2015 6:10 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Probably yes, edri, but I have not personal experience with triotar lenses

Once again, all lenses will produce the circular highlights, but it is the Trioplan ringed bubbles that we seek. If the Triotar line does, it is a well guarded secret. I have viewed many images from here: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/tags/triotar/interesting/ and it doesn't appear people are using them to that effect. The very few images I saw with the circular highlights did not match Trioplan.

Earlier in this thread the Tessar was brought up. Take a look here in Attila's facebook page at what this lady does with Tessar https://www.facebook.com/groups/mflensesgallery/search/?query=Daniela%20%C4%8Cern%C3%A1 I am also a fan or her pictures with Pentacon 1.8/50 (Meyer Oreston).

the pictures KDS posted where very intriguing of the steinheil cassarit 50mm. here's a link to a thread he posted:

forum.mflenses.com/steinheil-cassarit-f2-8-50mm-does-autumn-sun-t68150.html

I was actually surprised after a bit of research how many triplet lenses can be found on those cheaper viewfinder cameras, I'm going to keep a look out for the cassarit but I'm wondering how many other undiscovered gems there might be.

Primotar shots are very nice - the last one is a killer.

I have a Primotar on way to me and look forward to it. Those results are quite nice. I have a Primoplan which provides excellent characterful bokeh, but I have not yet figured out the conditions needed for the bokeh rings without solid centers. Andrea: How would you describe the specular highlights in that last picture that produced the rings? Are they bright or more dim or subtle?

Here are a couple from the Primoplan...

HI!,
For the last photo the light was shining and brillant . I was standing on the shadow side and the sun was illuminating by 40-30 ° on the horizon the back of the subject .

Primotar was on extention tube ( a complete set), the front of the lens was @ aprox 20 cm from the subject.

If you need additional info I'm here!

Andrea, those are spectacular, especially #3 and #6.

In #3, I like how the bokeh is more rounded above the plant and how it is more angular below it, reflecting the pattern of the vegetation.

One of my favourite MG lenses has Trioplan-like bokeh. And it's VERY cheap. It's Fujinon 55/2.2. Very unusual Uthar optical scheme and very pleasant picture.

Then, Telemegor 180/5.5 also has this bokeh

Wow, I like very much last three pictures with Telemegor.

One question about the Fujinon 55/2. Has it manual/auto switch in M42 mount?

PostPosted: Fri Feb 20, 2015 12:14 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

No, it doesn't... I had to fix the diaphragm pin (bent it a bit and inserted it with some force applied).

PostPosted: Fri Feb 20, 2015 12:42 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Yeah, I wrote about Telemegor to resemble Trioplan nearly a year ago Very Happy
https://www.flickr.com/photos/125619333@N08/sets/72157646006455367/

(In some aspects, I value Telemegor even more than Trioplan - better optics, nicer grass, more aquarel-like drawing, etc.)

And I bet Telemegor 150 or possible some other Telemegors (250, 400, prewar) to be the same

Apparently there will be a new 2015 re-release of the Trioplan, I guess they are trying to keep the wild bokeh so one answer might be “the new Trioplan”. Price remains unknown, as does its effect on the prices of the old Trioplan…

PostPosted: Fri Feb 20, 2015 9:15 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Yeah it's very interesting to see the new lens image performance, bokeh, and external look.

Anyway, I think the old lenses will only cost more as time pass, at least in a long term perspective.

PostPosted: Fri Feb 20, 2015 10:01 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

I do believe it might slowen those big price jumps around some of the lenses (Trioplan 100, Pancolar 80) but nothing more really

After all, are old car veterans getting cheaper in time?

Besides, I've heard it'll cost around €1.000 which is yet far from current Trioplan/Helios average prices. At least for now... Very Happy

Well, Helios 40 are currently produced in Russia on KMZ, you can buy a new Helios 40. But the prices of old H40's are not dropping. Even more, there are lots of people saying that the new H40s are not giving "THAT GOOD OLD HELIOS 40 LOOK", which pumps the price of old lenses further up...

Besides... according to a guy that has all three of them... it's truth.
