Got an "Auto Super Travenar" 300mm f4.5 ....



Is this circlip a standard fitting, and what does it retain -- it seems to be flat glass, so is it a lens element or some kind of dust-shield?



The lens is quite heavy but it handles well and is in good condition. Performance appears to be ok ....



What other names was it sold under, and do these models have a wire circlip as well?

That has a look of a Sun lens to me, it looks something like a big old Sun zoom that I have.

Don't pull that clip out it is part of the lens,it should not be showing like that.I pulled a lens apart recently, and it had two of those.
