Opal you live in an interesting place to photograph.
Nice photos as well. |
Thanks,
unfortunately, many people making more window shoppings, instead looking upwards, seeing the nice architecture of old and new buildings. |

Slowly, this wonderful 30 year old zoom lens is going on retirement, but I will keep it, since I am using now with a great joy, the new SONY G FE 4/70-200mm on my Sony A7! |

Yesterday, we went to the botanical garden of Leuven, the oldest one in Belgium, created in 1738 !!!
Took my E-M1 and just this Soligor zoom ... and came back, quite surprised once again, about the quality of this zoom froma modest manufacturer ...
I for one am very pleased with this one-lens-solution for my E-M1

My SOLIGOR 60 - 300mm which I haved bought years ago for my CONTAX cameras, and I am still very pleased with it!
The attached images I have shot now hand held on my SONY A6000 at f/8, which give me an 90 - 450mm (!) impressive range!

Hello Opal.
Were the last photos taken at 300mm or 60mm, especially the Church one ?
The last one : are these coastal antierosion concrete dfenses working well and where are they located ?
I have the Tamron 60-300mm. Great zoom lens too.
Cheers, |
As far as I remenber, the Church image with 60mm. The costal concrete defense, was shot at the Island of Sylt, because they have there massive Problems, that the sea water washing off a lot of the costal line, and the spend millions of Euros for repairs every year! |

Now, I have tried my over 30year's old Soligor 60-300mm zoom lens on my new Sony A6500 with it's excellent internal stabilisation. The zoom lens becomes on the APS-C format an 90 - 450mm (!) zoom lens. All images shot with f/8 whereby the most shots are made with the 450mm focal length

YES indeed, but I must get more practice on lower Lights and othe scences (Portraits etc.) with this excellent camera! Also, for better handling, I going to get me an MEIKE battery grip, especially for my heavy manual glasses!
