There are differing opinions regarding who made this fine macro lens. Many say it is Komine made like the Vivitar 55 2.8 lenses. However, internet also point to Panagor as the US/EU distributor for Kino. Some have said, Panagor 55 F3(F2.8, F3, F3.5), much like its older sibling Panagor 90 2.8, is made by Kino precision. Does anyone here know for sure?

all 3 lenses in that macro line (55mm/2.8, 90mm/2.8 , 135mm/2.8 ) were made by Komine and distributed under several different brands like Vivitar, Elicar, Panagor, Soligor, Quantaray, Rokunar, Sears
55mm/3 is earlier version of 55mm/2.8
